In partnership with the Marygrove Conservancy, The Tuxedo Project is excited to welcome novelist and essayist Brit Bennett as the guest author for the 33rd Annual Contemporary American Authors Lecture Series (CAALS).


Bennett will deliver the 2022 Bauder Lecture on Friday, April 8 @ 8pm at Marygrove. As we await her visit to Detroit this spring, The Tuxedo Project will host two virtual discussion groups centered on Bennett’s best-selling novels, The Mothers and The Vanishing Half.

BRIT BENNETT is born and raised in Southern California. She earned her MFA in fiction at the University of Michigan. Her debut novel The Mothers was a New York Times bestseller, and her second novel The Vanishing Half was an instant #1 New York Times bestseller.
